Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Weather next day functions: generate today's minimum and maximum temperature

Minimum temperature is the 24-hour day's lowest temperature (the low, usually occurring during the night) and maximum temperature is the day's highest temperature (the high, usually occurring in the afternoon). This function generates values for minimum and maximum temperature for today.

If the "simulated" option for temperature is chosen: For each (low and high) a number is randomly drawn from a normal distribution having the mean already calculated for today and the standard deviation given in the weather parameters. The values are adjusted for autocorrelation using the autocorrelation matrix. The mean temperature for the day is the average of the minimum and maximum termperatures.

If the "always 40-70 deg F" option for temperature is chosen: The minimum temperature is set at 40 degrees Fahrenheight and the maximum temperature is set at 70 degrees F. If the "smoothed" option for temperature is chosen: The minimum and maximum temperature are set at the smoothed long-term averages. The adjustment to maximum temperature for yesterday's rain is ignored. If the "unchanging" option for temperature is chosen: The minimum and maximum temperature stay the same as they were yesterday.
