Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Soil patch next day functions: calculate nitrate entering soil from rainfall, snowmelt and irrigation

Some nitrate can normally be found in rainfall (because N2 in the atmosphere is fixed to nitrate during lightning) and irrigation water. The simulation models nitrate entering the soil in rainfall by multiplying a parameter for the concentration in rainfall by the amount of rainfall today. The same is done for irrigation water with a separate parameter for nitrate concentration in irrigation water. The nitrate is added to the top soil layer.
