Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Soil patch next day functions: calculate runoff and water erosion from irrigation water

If irrigation occurred today (automatically or using a tool), the simulation calculates the amount of irrigation water that runs off the surface of the soil and the amount of soil lost during runoff. The calculation of runoff and erosion from irrigation water is much simpler than that for rain because we can assume some control over the speed of irrigation.

The amount of runoff from irrigation water is calculated simply by multiplying a parameter (the fraction of irrigation water lost to runoff) by the amount of water applied. The amount of soil eroded is calculated using the MUST variation of the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) with the crop management factor set at a constant 0.5.
